OEM Hinge Packaging Checklist for Export Orders
Packaging requirements should be part of the RFQ, not added after the product price has been agreed. Use this checklist to define artwork, inner protection, cartons, labels and pallet handling.
1. Prepare approved artwork and identifiers
Provide final files and a clear placement guide. Distinguish the product brand, buyer item number, barcode and logistics marks so the quotation covers the correct work.
- Vector logo or print-ready artwork
- Buyer item number and product description
- Barcode format, data and readable size
- Country-of-origin and other required label text
2. Define inner product protection
Select protection according to the product finish, storage conditions and buyer handling requirements. Do not assume one bag or wrapping method suits every hinge.
- Individual or grouped packing
- Scratch and surface protection
- Moisture-control requirement if applicable
- Included screws, accessories and instruction sheets
3. Set master-carton limits
Give the supplier any carton size, gross-weight or stacking limits used by the warehouse and distribution network. Confirm the number of pieces per carton after the product and inner pack are defined.
- Carton material or performance requirement
- Maximum gross weight and dimensions
- Pieces per carton and internal dividers
- Carton mark layout and print colors
4. Confirm pallet and shipping needs
State whether pallets are required and confirm destination-specific wood, fumigation or documentation rules with the freight forwarder. The final arrangement should be agreed per order.
- Pallet footprint and maximum height
- Stretch wrap, straps and corner protection
- Mixed-item pallet rules
- Shipping marks and document set
5. Approve a packing reference
Before volume packing, agree how artwork, labels and the packed unit will be approved. Keep the approved reference with the order specification for pre-shipment checks.
- Artwork proof
- Inner-pack photo or physical reference
- Carton and label sample
- Agreed quantity and appearance checks before dispatch
